FOROPA - Biomass Conference

Date: 11.11.2014
Time: 09.00 AM
Location: TIS innovation park - Via Siemens 19, 39100 Bolzano
Woody Biomass

High mountains, deep valleys and plenty of forests. About 50% of South Tyrol‘s land area is covered with the precious resource forest. Besides its various ecological and social functions, forests in South Tyrol play a significant economic role. It is source of income for its owners and source of raw material for the timber industry. Wood from South Tyrolean forests is by now being used in 72 biomass district heating plants in the region. But how and where is wood being used in South Tyrol? Where does untapped potential lie? Which are the paths that biomass travels along? How much value is added in a district heating plant by using  biomass? And which innovative possibilities are there to generate energy from biomass?

These and more questions will be answered at this Woody Biomass Conference. The aim of this event is to present the results of the EU-project FOROPA.

Registration by 04 November 2014 (Online registration)
