South Tyrol goes to Brussels

05.03.2014
The use of renewable energy on smart grids is the order of the day, and this includes South Tyrol. The South Tyrol Energy
Association is therefore, as part of a smart grid initiative, actively campaigning for the optimising of existing power grids. The services on offer provide innovative know-how to small businesses in particular.

This project will be presented on 20 March at a workshop of the European Association of Independent Electricity and Gas
Distribution Companies (GEODE) in Brussels. There is a tradition of cross-border co-operation with GEODE partners: Association representatives have for years now been meeting with energy companies from other EU states at GEODE meetings. It is no coincidence that Rudi Rienzner, CEO of the Association, is a vice-president of GEODE.

Distributors, consulting firms and energy associations from Austria, France, Great Britain and Sweden took part in the Brussels meeting. The South Tyrolean project thus took on a leading role, while strengthening the area’s image as a sustainable producer and future-capable Green Region.
